The Turkestan Region continues to systematically improve its investment climate and strengthen the regional economy. This year, the region plans to implement 70 investment projects with a total value of KZT 793.9 billion. These projects are expected to create 5,190 new jobs.
The issue was discussed at a regional executive meeting chaired by the Governor of the Turkestan region Nuralkhan Kusherov.
During the meeting, it was noted that a comprehensive review had been conducted of the 67 investment projects scheduled for implementation in 2026. The analysis identified 10 high-risk projects, which were replaced by 13 new projects. As a result, the region’s investment portfolio was updated, increasing the total number of projects planned for implementation by the end of the year to 70.
The Governor instructed the responsible departments, as well as district and city akims, to ensure the timely and high-quality implementation of all investment projects. He also emphasized the need for continuous monitoring of each project's progress, prompt resolution of emerging issues, stronger cooperation with investors, intensified efforts to attract new investment projects, and effective utilization of the region’s investment potential.
According to Deputy Governor Kanat Kaipbek, 17 investment projects with a total value of KZT 33.4 billion have already been commissioned in the region. Their implementation has created approximately 500 new jobs.
The region also maintains ongoing negotiations with potential investors. Recently, representatives of Zhouzhi Country Jinzhou State-Owned Capital Investment and Operations visited the region to discuss a proposed kiwifruit cultivation project. The company expressed interest in the Turkestan Region’s favorable climate and agricultural potential. As part of the visit, the investors toured the Sairam and Keles districts to assess sites suitable for the construction of greenhouse complexes. The company is currently preparing a detailed implementation plan for the project.
In addition, representatives of Sauran Solar Power discussed a project to construct an external protective wall for the Mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi. Representatives of Sin Yuan Steel presented proposals to relocate steel production to the Turkestan Region and build a modern steel manufacturing complex.
At present, all of these investment initiatives are undergoing comprehensive assessment, while mechanisms for their implementation are being further developed.
