A MEAT CLUSTER WORTH OVER $111 MILLION PLANNED FOR KAZAKHSTAN’S TURKISTAN REGION

A large-scale investment project aimed at developing the agro-industrial sector is planned for Kazakhstan’s Turkistan Region. The project involves the establishment of a meat production cluster, with a total estimated investment of $111.1 million.

A memorandum of understanding was signed during the 9th Kazakhstan Global Investment Roundtable (KGIR-2026) international investment forum. The document was signed by Turkistan Region Governor Nuralkhan Kusherov and Syrym Yertayev, founder of the Nurym Group of Companies, at a meeting attended by Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov.

The initiative aims to expand agricultural production in the region, develop the meat processing industry, and increase investment opportunities. The project is also expected to strengthen the economic potential of the Turkistan Region and contribute to the development of the agro-industrial complex.

As part of the investment forum Regional Governor Nuralkhan Kusherov also plans to hold meetings with other major investors. The talks will focus on attracting investment to the region, launching new production projects, and establishing long-term partnerships.

Currently, efforts are underway in the Turkistan Region to modernize agriculture, expand value-added processing and establish new manufacturing facilities. Greater cooperation with investors is expected to help implement new initiatives in these areas.

It should be noted that the signed memorandum reflects the parties’ intentions to cooperate and does not constitute a finalized investment agreement. Details regarding project financing, implementation procedures and other specific terms will be set out in separate agreements to be concluded at a later stage.
