The "TURKISTAN INVESTMENT AND TOURISM FORUM – 2024" has begun in Turkestan, drawing both local and international investors as well as representatives of local government authorities.
The forum opened with an exhibition organized for its participants. Investors were introduced to the craftsmanship of the Turkestan region, tourist destinations, and natural agricultural products. New projects currently being implemented in the region were also presented.
As part of the forum, a plenary session titled "Turkestan – a Hub for International Cooperation on the Great Silk Road" was held, featuring representatives from government agencies, business sectors, and international organizations. Serik Naryssov, chairman of the Central Asia Historical-Diplomatic Community, served as moderator of the session.

During the plenary session, Lyui Yi, Deputy Consul General of the People's Republic of China in Almaty, addressed the audience, highlighting the significance of this international event in strengthening ties between nations. Speakers also included representatives from Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Agriculture and the business community.
The forum will continue with thematic panel sessions. During the event, key international agreements will be signed, further solidifying cooperation.
Notably, by the end of last year, investments in the main capital of Turkestan Region reached 972 billion tenge, nearing the trillion mark. These indicators reflect the dynamic development of the region's production and industrial sectors. Moreover, last year, 20 investment projects were successfully completed in the region’s manufacturing industry, creating new job opportunities.
The primary goal of this international forum is to showcase Turkestan Region’s investment potential, strengthen the region’s economic ties with foreign countries, attract investments, and establish new production facilities.
