In his Address of October 28, Head of State Qasym-Jomart Tokayev set the task of developing the agro-industrial complex and expanding the processing of agricultural products. As part of these efforts, a new industrial project is planned for implementation in the Turkestan Region.

Regional Governor Nuralkhan Kusherov met with Bashir Ahmad Ahmadi, founder of Interexport LLP. The meeting focused on a project to build a modern flour and oil production plant in the Maktaaral District. The parties reached an agreement on the project's implementation.

The total investment in the project amounts to $31 million. Construction of the facility is scheduled for 2026-2028. Once operational, the plant is expected to create 120 permanent jobs.

According to the planned production capacity, the facility will be able to produce 300 tonnes of oil and 1,500 tonnes of flour per day. In addition, a dedicated line will be installed to package 1,000 tonnes of flour per day.

The meeting also addressed issues related to the timely implementation of the project. The regional governor emphasized the importance of attracting investment, developing industry, and creating new jobs, reaffirming the region's readiness to support the initiative.

The new facility is expected to contribute to deeper processing of locally sourced raw materials, increase the output of finished products and strengthen the industrial potential of the Maktaaral District.
