As part of President Qasym-Jomart Tokayev’s directives on regional development, investment attraction, support for entrepreneurship and the expansion of domestic production, new industrial enterprises are being launched in the Turkistan Region.
One such project is the launch of the cotton processing plant operated by Birlik-E LLP in Zhetisay District. The opening ceremony was attended by Nuralkhan Kusherov, Governor of the Turkistan Region.

The total investment in the project amounts to 2.8 billion tenge. The facility has an annual processing capacity of up to 50,000 tonnes of cotton. The launch of the plant has created 200 new jobs. The production process employs modern technologies.
The second phase of the project предусматривает the construction of a plant for cotton seed production.

It should be noted that this year, cotton has been planted across 45,000 hectares in Zhetisay District. To date, 120,000 tonnes of cotton have been harvested, with an average yield of 27.7 centners per hectare.
The new enterprise will help increase the processing of locally grown cotton and strengthen the district’s industrial potential.
