As part of a working visit to China organized by the regional investment agency Turkistan Invest, the Governor of the Turkestan Region N. Kusherov held important negotiations in Yunnan Province, widely recognized as the capital of China’s flower industry. During the visit, the regional leader met with Liu Junfeng - Chairman of the Kunming Flower Industry Chamber of Commerce, to discuss a project aimed at transforming Turkestan into Central Asia’s leading flower hub.

The delegation also visited the Dounan Flower Market, the world’s largest flower auction and trading center which accounts for 80% of China’s flower production and attracts approximately 15 million visitors annually. During the meetings, the region’s transit and logistics potential was presented. Today, the Turkestan Region is Kazakhstan’s leading agricultural area, home to 72% of the country’s greenhouse facilities, covering a total area of 1,007 hectares.

Following the negotiations, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Kazakh farming enterprise AGRO TUR and its Chinese partners.

It is worth noting that the establishment of a modern logistics hub and production facilities in Turkestan will enable the centralized handling of sales and export operations for local farmers’ products. This unique project, which envisages the introduction of advanced Chinese technologies, is expected to transform Turkestan into a major flower export center serving the markets of Central Asia and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).
