Deputy Governor of the Turkestan Region K. Kaiypbek held a meeting with an official delegation from Guizhou Province of the People’s Republic of China. The delegation was headed by Hong Jiang, Deputy Chairman of the Guizhou Provincial People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries.

During the meeting, the parties discussed joint projects in the fields of investment attraction, industry, digital technologies, tourism, transport logistics, agriculture, as well as the development of trade and economic relations.

Deputy Governor K. Kaiypbek highlighted the region’s investment potential and particularly emphasized its international transit capabilities. Currently, 85% of land cargo transportation between China and Europe passes through the international transit corridor “Western China – Western Europe,” which runs through the territory of the Turkestan region. In addition, strategic railway lines connecting Central Asia with Russia and Siberia also pass through the region.

Furthermore, the annual passenger capacity of Turkestan International Airport reaches 3 million passengers. For investors, the region offers 21 industrial zones equipped with all necessary engineering infrastructure, as well as the Turan Special Economic Zone designed for high-tech industries.

Representatives of Guizhou Province highly praised Turkestan’s tourism potential and expressed interest in cooperation in the fields of agriculture, education, logistics, and industry.

As a result of the meeting, an initiative was proposed to establish a sister-region agreement between the two regions, and an agreement was reached to intensify work on specific investment projects.
