The Turkestan Region continues to strengthen investment cooperation and develop the region’s agro-industrial sector. Within the framework of agreements reached between the Government of the Turkestan Region, LLP “Xinghengtai Agro-Cotton” and LLP “Aqqum Makta” a Memorandum has been signed to implement a number of strategically important projects in the Otyrar district.


The total investment volume amounts to 10 billion tenge. As a result of the project’s implementation around 300 new jobs are expected to be created in the region. The project includes the construction of a cotton-processing plant, cultivation of elite cotton varieties, production of cotton fiber and the introduction of drip irrigation systems. In addition, work will be carried out to modernize irrigation canals.
The parties emphasized that the memorandum reflects mutual interest in long-term cooperation, strengthening the investment climate and developing a competitive agro-industrial complex.
It should be noted that a joint working group will be established to coordinate further activities. Specific issues related to project implementation and financing will be regulated through additional agreements.
The signing of the memorandum marks another step in strengthening international investment partnerships and developing the industrial potential of the Turkestan region.
