Two capsules of a cotton processing plant have been built in the Otyrar district of the Turkestan region. Akim of the region Nurlan Kosherov took part in the ceremony and wished success to the initiative. He met with investors and got acquainted with the cotton and textile cluster development project. The head of the region said that comprehensive support will be provided to the infrastructure works and warned that if problems arise, it is necessary to inform about the situation in a timely manner.
This project, which is being implemented in the Otyrar district, is being implemented jointly by Turkestan Cotton Agro-Industrial Complex LLP and SEC Turkestan JSC. The unique project includes the creation of a high-quality raw material base using modern water-saving technologies, modern cotton processing plants, production of drip irrigation belts and other infrastructure facilities. Administrative buildings, an economic base, pumping stations and other facilities are being built here. The total investment cost of the project is 80 billion tenge.
The project provides for the launch of 4 modern cotton processing plants with a capacity of 160,000 tons per year, as well as the creation of a production line for the production of 6,000 tons of cotton seeds. Of these, 2 plants will be launched this year, and 2 more plants are planned to be launched in 2026. When the project is fully implemented, about 1,500 residents of nearby districts and cities will be employed.
The raw materials produced in the Otyrar district are supplied to spinning, weaving, weaving, dyeing and finished product factories under construction in the Turan special economic zone in the city of Turkestan.
The first large-scale project in the country using water-saving technologies covers all stages of the production process. Thanks to the use of the best technologies, you can save up to 3-4 times more water and get high productivity.
The economic efficiency of the project is huge. This will not only contribute to the development of the cotton and textile cluster, but will also bring income to the regional budget and increase tax revenues.
