The Turkestan Region continues to systematically implement measures aimed at import substitution and the development of the manufacturing industry. The region places special emphasis on expanding production, increasing its export potential, and manufacturing products with higher added value.

The region’s export performance continues to show steady growth. In 2025, the Turkestan Region exported 1.571 million tons of products, representing a 16% increase compared to the previous year. During the first four months of the current year, exports reached 795.3 thousand tons, which is 2.2 times higher than in the corresponding period last year. This included 576.6 thousand tons of crop products, 20.5 thousand tons of livestock products, and 198.1 thousand tons of processed industrial goods.

At the same time, the downward trend in imports has continued. In 2025, the region imported 748 thousand tons of goods, while during the first four months of the current year imports amounted to 251 thousand tons, which is lower than during the same period last year.

As part of the import substitution policy, enterprises producing flooring materials, aluminum products, yarn, adhesive tape, household refrigerators, and soft drinks have already been commissioned in the region. In addition, new production facilities are being developed to manufacture fabrics, biologically active dietary supplements, aluminum-zinc products, agricultural machinery, and spare parts.

According to the results of the analysis, the Turkestan Region has significant potential for the deep processing of copper, aluminum, iron, polypropylene, and other raw materials that are currently exported from the country in their primary form. In this regard, 40 potential investment projects have been prepared to manufacture copper pipes, radiators, cable products, aluminum profiles, construction materials, metal structures, and household products made from polypropylene. An investment profile has been developed for each project.

Efforts to launch new production facilities are ongoing. In the Sairam Industrial Zone, the construction of plants for the production of cheese, specialty cheeses, and powdered milk has been proposed. In the Sauran District, enterprises for vegetable processing, canning, and tomato paste production are planned. In the Maktaaral District, a carpet manufacturing facility is expected to be established, while a baby food production plant is planned within the TURAN Special Economic Zone.

To strengthen food security and reduce dependence on imports, four major projects with a total investment of KZT 60 billion are being implemented. In particular, a poultry farm with an annual production capacity of 48,000 tons of poultry meat is under construction in the Tulkibas District. Poultry meat production is being expanded in the Ordabasy District, while an egg production complex is being built in the Baidibek District. In addition, new industrial poultry farming complexes have been proposed for the Otyrar and Shardara districts, as well as the city of Arys.
