TURKESTAN REGION: NEW PRODUCTION FACILITIES, INVESTMENTS AND ECONOMIC GROWTH

The 14th expanded meeting of the Public Council of the Turkestan Region was held in Turkestan. The meeting was chaired by the head of the Regional Public Council B. Zhylkyshiev. Representatives of the regional government, members of the public council, heads of departments, maslikhat deputies and sector specialists took part in the event.

The agenda included issues related to the socio-economic development of the region, attracting investments, digitalization, transport infrastructure and other socially significant matters.

During the meeting, the regional governor N. Kusherov noted that the main goal of the Turkestan region is to transform it into a fully self-sufficient and industrially developed territory. According to him, priority in the region is given to the development of deep processing, the creation of industrial parks, and import-substitution projects through the introduction of new technologies.

Deputy governor of the region K. Kaiypbek presented a report on the socio-economic results of the region and spoke about ongoing work to attract investments, develop production and diversify the economy.

Within the framework of import-substitution policy, 31 investment projects worth a total of 176 billion tenge have been implemented. Among them: in the city of Turkestan, a spinning factory of the company “Lihua,” the “QazLaminat” laminate plant, and a disposable tableware production facility “QazEcoPack” have been launched. In addition, in the Sauran district, a refrigeration equipment production facility “Jasyl Suyq Qazaqstan” has been commissioned; in the Shardara district, a deep corn processing plant “Kazkrakhmal” has been opened; in the Tulkibas district, the “Beibars Bottlers” enterprise producing beverages under the RC Cola brand has started operations; and in the city of Kentau, a gas boiler production facility “Turan Shenhua” has been launched.

To support investors, the development of industrial sites with the necessary infrastructure continues. In the special economic zone, 98 projects worth 881 billion tenge are being implemented, creating 7,663 jobs. In industrial zones, projects worth 124 billion tenge are being carried out, providing employment for more than 6,000 people.

During the meeting, members of the Public Council positively assessed the implemented socio-economic and investment projects and noted the steady growth in the development pace of the Turkestan region.
